Darrell Hinga
Personal Profile
Darrell has been involved in a number of Race Relations councils and committees throughout New Zealand. He received a Diploma in Ministry from an indigenous tertiary training institute (Te Whare Amorangi) and served on the Maori Fellowship Committee for the Salvation Army New Zealand, Fiji and Tongan Territory.
In 1995, Darrell organised a residential training and cultural awareness workshop for over 100 delegates and was a committee member for Race Relations in Wellington.
Darrell has also worked for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as an assessor for a post graduate degree programme offered by Te Wananga O Te Raukawa - New Zealand's largest indigenous University. Having travelled the world, Darrell along with his wife, moved their young family to Australia.
Since living on Wurundjeri Land in Eastern Melbourne, he has delivered health education to students at Worawa College, set up co-location arrangements with Ngwala Wullumbong and was part of the planning for a major meeting place known as the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place.
As a graduate of Business at Swinburne University, he has held positions including clinical director, executive officer and director for over 27 years in the health sector.
